When Joanne and I were still living on the NSW/Vic border, I was a fair bit fatter than I am now, and only had an entry level 26″ hardtail mountain bike. Today, I have lost a lot of weight, gained a lot of fitness and now have an actual road bike, but I am still doubtful I’d have the stones to mount up and do the upcoming Wagga to Albury Bike Race.
We only ventured up to Wagga once, to see Bell Shakespeare performing Richard III, and this event sees riders head along the same route we took through Henty and Culcairn.
Actually, I just GoogleEarthed it and have approximated that the Wagga to Albury ride is around the 130km mark. As I have the attention span of a four year old and get bored doing anything that takes me longer than two or three hours, chances are I probably wouldn’t have the stones to line up for something that would take me around six!
