Misquoted in the Express Advocate

Bit annoyed with being totally misquoting on Page 46 of today’s Express Advocate in a writeup on the Bumble Hill Burn that was held last weekend.

In his writeup, Errol Smith says that I compare the Bumble Hill Burn poorly next to the City 2 Surf.  I quote his article “compared to Sydney’s City 2 Surf, the Bumble Hill Burn was ‘for wussygirls’.”

For some reason, and without contacting me directly for confirmation, Errol Smith obviously visited my light-hearted blog and read my report on the Bumble Hill Burn that I wrote on the afternoon of the event.

Unfortunately, Mr Smith is one of those rare individuals who can copy and paste and still twist words around, as my blog clearly states “I have now decided that the City 2 Surf’s ‘Heartbreak Hill’ is for wussygirls!  After doing the inaugural Bumble Hill Burn today I can attest that this cool new event is all hill, all heartbreak!

See the difference?  In my blog I jovially comment that the Bumble Hill Burn was more gruelling than Heartbreak Hill.  In the Express article it makes it sound like the Bumble Hill Burn was a joke compared to the City 2 Surf.

Mr Smith, you owe the organisers of the Bumble Hill Burn an apology for misquoting a competitor and making their awesome new race seem less than what it was.
